Aroyewun Inaugurates IBLCDA Cabinet, Assigns SLG, Supervisor, Special Advisers’ Portfolios

The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, on Monday, fully inaugurated his Executive cabinet and allocated portfolios to the newly appointed cabinet members.

At the swearing in ceremony held at the Council Secretariat, the council boss announced his Vice Chairman, Barr. Ade Ayeni as the Supervisor for Investment and Wealth Creation. In addition, he will also oversees the activities of the Supervisors and Special Advisers in charge of Civic Engagement; Culture and Tourism; Transport and Market Affairs, Social Services and Project Monitoring.

Alhaji Qudus Oduntan officially assumed office as the Secretary to the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Government.

He urged the new appointees to go about their responsibilities with integrity and diligence.

“To the appointees, the oath you have taken is not merely a constitutional requirement; it is a solemn commitment to serve with integrity, diligence, and an unwavering sense of responsibility.

“Public office is not about prestige; it is about purpose. It is about the lives we touch, the opportunities we create, and the legacy we leave behind for generations to come.

Aryewun also charged them with the achievements of his administration’s Agenda which is anchored on five critical pillars tagged the ‘GLORY AGENDA’ ( G – Good governance & Green interventions; L – Learning; O – Optimal wellness; R – Roads and other physical infrastructure and Y – Youth and Sports development).

“Our administration is guided by a clear roadmap: the GLORY Agenda, which is our guiding philosophy and development framework. The GLORY Agenda reflects our collective commitment to building a stronger, healthier, more peaceful, more prosperous Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA”, he said.

The new team assumed duty immediately, with specific directives to engage actively with communities, bring forward innovative policy ideas, maintain unity and resist division, deliver measurable impact in everyday lives.

The new appointees and their portfolios are listed below:

Mr Dauda Oshinlaja: Supervisor, Environment and Waste Management.

Engr Ahmed Abdulai: Supervisor, Works.

Mr. Adeyemi Benson, Supervisor, Education & Library Services.

Mrs Adenike Dawodu, Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Mr Idris Ogunyemi: Supervisor for Agric, Food Security, and Rural Development.

Mr Michael Ayéni, Supervisor for ICT.

Mrs Opemipo Faniyi Hamzat, Supervisor for Budget and Strategic Planning.

Hon Shakiru Lawal, Supervisor for Civic Engagement.

Hon Bosun Agoro, Supervisor for Culture and Tourism.

Hon Hassan Sheu Adewale, Supervisor for Special Duties.

Mr Toyib Oke, Supervisor for Youth and Sports.

Mrs Patricia Ọkosodò, Supervisor for Primary Health Services.

Mr Emmanuel Banjoko, Supervisor for Transport and Market Affairs.

Mr Taofeek Ipaye, Special Adviser on Social Services.

Mr Shakiru Seidu, Special Adviser on Media and Public Relations.

Mr Lateef Odusanya, Special Adviser on Chieftaincy and Community Development.

Mr Hassan Aliu, Special Adviser on Infrastructure Development.

Mr Olatunde Samuel Olawale, Special Adviser on Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs.

Mr Ezekiel Oluwaseun Oni, Special Adviser on Project Monitoring.

Mr Lukman Adekoya, Special Adviser on Political Affairs.

Abdulsalam Tijani, Special Adviser on Students Affairs.

Meanwhile, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Asiwaju of Igbogbo Kingdom and member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), explained that the 22 -man list was due to the reality of the time.

The political leader went into memory lane to recall the challenges involved in the creation of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LGA in 1969, until it became a reality in 2003.

He emphasised that the council has brought development to Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.

He commended the previous chairmen of the council from Prince Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa, who was elected as the first chairman in 2003, Hon. Gbenga Basanya who was also elected as an Executive Chairman, Yeye Bolanle Basorun, Sole Administrator, Hon. Taiwo Orenuga, Executive Secretary to Hon. Sesan Daini who was also elected.

Alll of the past chairmen were in attendance at the swearing-in ceremony except Hon. Daini.

Asiwaju Basorun urged the new administration to continue the development that has been happening in the council in the last 10 years.

More so, he explained that forner political office holders were brought into the cabinet to guide the new ones with their experience.

The political leader also assured the administration of his continuous support and guidance.

In his remarks, Hon. Taiwo Orenuga, APC Chairman in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LGA, commended Aroyewun for his administration’s achievements in the last few months.

He also lauded Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, for allowing more youths to come on board as cabinet members.

He called for good relationship between the organs of government within the council, and also urged the new appointees to bring on board new initiatives that would move the council forward.

Also speakng, HRM Oba Semiudeen Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo who was represented by the Odofin of Igbogbo, Odofin Tajudeen Onasanya, congratulated the newly appointed SLG, Supervisors and Special Advisers.

Odofin, who said that himself, Asiwaju Basorun and Pa Olatunji Bakare, former Vice Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, were the first three persons that signed the memorandum for the creation of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, urged the new administration to always put the palace and custodians of tradition into consideration.

He also tasked the newly appointed cabinet members on unity and dedication to the development of the council.

Also at the inauguration ceremony were Hon. Gbenga Oshin, former member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Comrade Biliamin Olalekan Oba, Senior Special Assitant to the Governor on Social Development, Hon. Basirat Banjoko, Council Leader, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Alhaji Sefiu Ogunyemi, APC chieftain, Alhaji Abdulahi Olawale (Bobomu), APC chieftain, Pastor Ola Ayetoba, APC chieftain, and Prince Shakirudeen Odusanya, APC chieftain among others.
